Born September 13, 1919 in Lake Bay, Washington he grew up mostly in the Seattle area graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1937. Harry entered the Coast Guard in 1937 and served in World War 2 in both the Pacific and then the Atlantic as an engine room operator and mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and then returned to the Pacific Northwest first to Portland and then to Seattle. He worked many years for Arden Mayfare, went to Alaska twice, and finally retired from Dairygold in Seattle and settled in Renton, Washington.
He enjoyed camping, fishing, and working on his house.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Betty Jane and his two sisters. He is survived by his three sons William, Franklin, and Richard, seven grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
