Joanne Ellen Wartella

Joanne Ellen Wartella passed away November 17, 2024, at the age of 85. Joanne was born January 13, 1939, to John and Thelma Moriarty in Yakima, Washington. After moving to the Renton area and graduating from Renton High School, Joanne met Clifford Wartella through a mutual friend. They were married on November 10, 1956. Together, they were blessed with five children - Victor, Kathleen, Robert, Bruce, and Molly.

Joanne loved being with her family and celebrating any special day or event. She was especially excited to welcome 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren to her life and loved time spent with them. She enjoyed reading, going to the movies, and traveling. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and had a heart of gold. She lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with her family and friends.

Joanne is survived by her sister Doreen Tiernan, her son, Victor, her daughter Kathleen (Bob), her son Robert (Claudia); her son Bruce, her daughter Molly (Steve); grandchildren, Kacey, Chris, Steven, Christopher (Holly), Caitlin, Zeb (Emily), Emily (Ryan), Madeline, and great-grandchildren, Serenity, Chloe, Scarlet, and Cassius; and many relatives and great friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James (brother), Cliff (husband), and Bobby (grandson).

Services will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Renton on December 3, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Anthony Catholic School.
