He was born on January 21, 1974, in Seoul, South Korea; the youngest of two siblings, Joseph and his family immigrated to Seattle, Washington on August 6, 1982. After graduating from Cleveland High School, he went to University of Washington where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in late 1990s. He is forever reunited with his loving mother who recently passed away on January 8, 2023. May his soul be at peace with his mother and may he fulfill his dreams and wishes in heaven.
Joseph was beloved part of PMK for the past 2.5 years, and Frontier/Airport Brokers for 17 years prior. Joseph loved being a customs entry writer and his clients adored him. According to his previous employer, Joseph regularly received accolades from his clients who went out of their way to acknowledge his caring and attentive services. Furthermore, he truly cared for others and mentored junior staff.
Joseph was a truly dedicated Seattle Seahawks fan for over two decades; attending Hawks practice at VMAC and both home & road games. He was a season ticket holder with his seat near the 50-yard line. Joseph’s first love of sport was baseball. In late 1980s, he attended Mariners home games with his sister at the Kingdome and watched a rookie player named Ken Griffey Jr. hit his home run. During his downtime, Joseph had an undeniable passion for sports & statistics, music, travel, die cast metal cars, and transformers movies & toys.
Joseph is survived by his father Chae Cho; his sister Sandra; his brother-in-law John; and his only niece Emily.
One of the fondest memories of Joseph’s childhood was when he was teaching his sister about five different types of baseball pitches and catching his sister’s breaking balls with his baseball glove at the school playground in their Beacon Hill neighborhood as dusk falls.
“My brother, you left too soon, and my heart still aches in sadness, but I know we will be together again with mom. Until then, I promise to be strong for Dad, John, and Emily. Sleep well and keep on cheering for the Seahawks and Mariners from Heaven.”
