

Kunie Anna Yamamoto, 90, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on December 26, 2014. She was born January 8, 1924 in Helena, Montana. The daughter of Taichi and Osue Yamamoto. She lived in Seattle for 39 years and lived in Wakayama, Japan for 51 years. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings, Kumeyo, Teruko, Reiko, Takeshi, and Mariko. She was raised in the town Katsuura in Wakayama, Japan. She graduated from Koza Girls School. She worked as a farmer for many years and was the primary caregiver for her father until he passed away. She deeply loved her family and friends. She was always there for them anytime they needed her. At the age of 51, she made a life changing decision to move to Seattle where she spent the remainder of her life. In Seattle, she helped her brother with his Gardening business and helped raise his 3 children. Her faith was a very important part of her life. She became a devoted Christian in her 20’s. She was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Seattle. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed cooking, reading, sudoku, ikebana, fishing, but most of all she cherished the time she spent with family. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Paul, Roy and Lisa of Seattle, Shoichi, Masahiro, Junji, Tomikazu, and Yoko of Wakayama, Japan.
“Obachan” touched the hearts of many in her life and she was known for her strength and commitment to care for others. Her cheerful smile and kind heart will always be remembered.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 12pm at
Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home in Renton,WA. All are welcome to attend.
