Rory Mark Gressler was born on June 8, 2000 in Seattle, Washington to Mark Gressler and Colleen O’Donnell Gressler. He passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. He was 21 years old. He was the youngest of 6 siblings.
Rory moved to Beulah, Colorado in April of 2021 and began to grow and change; taking up hiking and camping. In the words of his sister and housemate Aislinn, “In just 9 short months, Rory managed to hold down his first full-time job, sign his first lease, write his first check, obtain his first bank account, go on his first hike, move into his first home, secure his first permit and driver's license, and work through a lot of adult situations on his own. He taught me, through all of this, that we all have the power to radically change our lives if we want to.” Rory had aspirations to become a fire fighter. He loved nature. He adored dogs. His biggest passion was for virtual video games, even obtaining a sponsor.
Rory will be remembered as a young man who deeply loved and was fiercely loyal to family. He relished his role as the baby brother of the family, and spread abundant sweetness to everyone around him. He was not above leaning his head on your shoulder and telling you, “I love you”. All remember Rory for his companion virtues to sweetness as well, which was that he was an exceptionally kind and gentle soul.
He leaves behind his father Mark Gressler (with Christine) and his mother Colleen O’Donnell Gressler.
He is also survived by his 5 siblings, Colin, Alecia, Brendan, Quinn, and Aislinn.
He also leaves behind too many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces to mention by name.
We will miss this incredibly sweet young man, Rory. But we will cherish our many memories of him, deeply in our hearts, forever.
