Terry Uzell DeMers passed away peacefully at his home on August 22nd at 6:30 p.m., surrounded by family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and unwavering faith in God.
Born on July 17th, 1943, in Sandpoint, Idaho, Terry moved to Western Washington during his teenage years. He briefly attended college before finding meaningful work at Truss Span, which kept him rooted in Washington.
In May of 1981, Terry met and married the love of his life, Margaret. Through this union, he embraced the role of stepfather to Margaret’s children, offering them love, support, and genuine affection from the very beginning.
Terry was widely known for his generosity and his deep care for everyone in his life. A man of profound faith, he served as a mentor and spiritual guide to many, always eager to share the word of God with anyone willing to listen. His life was a testament to his belief in eternal life and the teachings he held dear.
He fought the good fight. He kept the faith. And his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Terry was preceded in death by his father, Uzell DeMers, and Flossie Berg. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret DeMers; his brothers, Jim Berg and Darwin Berg; and his sister, Kaye Bell. He also leaves behind his stepdaughters Jodie Cooper (Gary Cooper), Rhonda Bush, and Katherine Markham (Kevin Markham); his stepson Scott House; and four cherished grandchildren: Heather Knaff (Joe Knaff), Arthur House, Cooper Markham, and Cash Markham.
Family meant everything to Terry. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
