Dona Isabelle Damon

Dona I. Damon (Nee Smith), age 86, died Thursday October 3, 2013, at Rennes Nursing Home. She was born June 9, 1927, to William and Oris (Leblance) Smith, in Escanaba Michigan. She moved to Rhinelander, and has been a lifelong resident of the community. She owned and operated the Pied Piper, along with her husband “Tubby” for 39 years, and was a gourmet cook. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, and active in business and the community.

Donna is survived by her children, Michelle (David) Hines of Winneconne WI, Pamela (Steve) Winchell of Rhinelander WI, and Scott Damon of Rhinelander WI, grandchildren Jody (Chris Gilman) Olson, Carey Durkin, Kelly Durkin, John (Erin) Hines, Ryan Hines, Anne Hines, Clarence (Judy) Schmidt, and Audrey (John) Beahm, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Dona is preceded in death by her parents and husband “Tubby”.

A memorial service will be Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 5:00 pm at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home with Chaplin John Uhlarik officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the time of service.
