Dear Elena & Family,

It was with great sadness that I learned only this week of the untimely death of your husband James. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers in this time of grief; may the love of family and friends comfort you during this difficult time.

Having grown up at St. Pat's in the 60's it is hard to not have a memory or story of Jim Mueller.  Our prayers are with the family.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Jim.  May it comfort you to know that death cannot diminish the important ways your husband/father/grandfather touched your lives, that grief cannot take away the good times you shared, that sorrow will fade in time...but memories remain forever.  And in being so remembered, Jim's legacy will live on.  This we learned when my father passed away.  Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of sorrow.

I recall with Jim with fondness and with good memories of his kindness and gentle ways as a colleague at St. Francis Minor Seminary. I'm sure he will be missed by many.

Jim Mueller was the guilding light for so many of us involved with the drum and bugle corps at St. Patricks' church.(Imperials of St. Patrick and today the Pioneer Corps).  He traveled, mentored, and was a spokesperson often as the Corps matured.  His deep voice and attitude of "What can I do for you", set him apart in a very positive matter.  A avid snowmobiler, and a personal friend.  We are shocked by his passing. God Bless Elena and family.

So very sorry to hear of Jim's passing.  Jim & I worked together at the state board for many years.  We shared somewhat of a special relationship because Jim hunted near Rhinelander and I hunt near Crandon.  We were constantly comparing notes about fishing and hunting. We pretty much lost track of one another after Jim retired, but I will always remember Jim fondly as a kindred spirit and good friend.

Jim Mueller was a great man. I will always remember his kindness, thoughtfulness and dry sense of humor at the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.  We pray for God's comfort and peace to you during this time.

Elena and Family,

I am saddened to learn of Jim's death.  Jim and I shared countless lunches over the years.  We talked about our families, education, and many other interesting topics.  I think I came to know Jim quite well.  I especially admired Jim's efforts and leadership in the area of social justice. 

One project always comes to mind when I think about Jim.  Jim and I discovered a way to do video conferencing cheaply.  We first practiced it between our computers in the office.  Later Jim demonstrated it by making a presentation to a workshop that I was conducting in Appleton.  Jim made the presentation from his desk in Madison.  That presentation eliminated the need for people to travel across the state for meetings.  This saved a great deal of time and money for the Technical College System, while improving service.

I regret that we have not been able to get together that often after Jim retired.  I am truly sorry I was not at home when Jim stopped by this winter.

This will be a difficult time, but I hope you find comfort in your faith and support from your many friends.  I am truly sorry for your loss.

Jim Mueller was a mentor to me as a young girl growing up on Milwaukee's South Side.  He put me and my siblings to work around the church and even though he was held in high esteem as a religious priest he was also a leader who lived in the real world.  He made me have confidence to be able to accomplish things that I may not have even tried without his guidance.  As an example, he converted a used bread delivery truck to a camper so he could travel with the drum corps. He let me help him with the construction of it even though I was a female.  I was blessed to talk to him and Elena after my father's passing and let him know how important he was to myself and my family.  Our prayers are with you and your family.

Elena and Family, Jim and many of worked at the Technical College Board. Jim was such a wonderful person to work with and help us in many of our programs.  When I went for my fourth degree in the Knights of Columbus, Jim and I shared a lot of time reviewing the program. He was such an inspiration to me as well as many others.  Our prayers and memories are with you and your children during this hard time.
