

Margaret E. Petraitis, age 89, of Rhinelander, passed away May 7, 2011, at the Friendly Village Nursing Home in the loving care of Ministry Hospice. She was born on March 17, 1922 in Rhinelander, the daughter of John and Margaret (Huber) Johnson. Margaret was married to Bruno Petraitis in 1944 in Rhinelander and together raised their family of two children. Margaret was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, sewing, and being with her friends. She very much enjoyed her years at Phoenix Villa and loved spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her daughter,
Donald (Judy) Paddock,
and son Tom (Julie) Petraitis, of Rhinelander
her four grandchildren; Robin (Angela) Rueckert of Washburn, WI,
Brad (Angie) Paddock,
David (Cassie) Webster,
and Nathan (Mandy) Plouff, all of Rhinelander, WI,
nine great-grandchildren,
and a dear niece, Linda (Edward) Saal,
as well as much extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her great-grandson Zachary,
her loving husband, Bruno in 1992,
her brother, Richard Johnson,
and her two sisters; Dorothy (Ervin) Krause,
and Janet(Edward) Fenton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Nativity of Our Lord (St Mary’s Site) at 11:00 A.M. with Father John Gerritts officiating. Visitation will be held at Hildebrand Russ Funeral Home from 9:00 A.M. until time of the Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
