

Glynn was born on February 21, 1914 in Wills Point, TX to James Arthur and Cassie Dema Wilson Harris. He was the second oldest of four sons. He grew up in Dallas, Texas, attended Tyler Street Methodist Church, and graduated from Sunset High School. Glynn served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 and received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Distinguished Unit Citation, and EAME Campaign Medal with eight Bronze Service Stars. He was a captain with the 3rd Signal Company, 3rd Infantry Division. On December 16, 1945, he married Helen Elizabeth Chandler.
Glynn retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after thirty-six years of service as a Traffic Equipment Engineer. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Disabled American Veterans—Big D Chapter #57, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Those who preceded him in death include: his wife of forty years, Helen Elizabeth Harris; his parents, James Arthur and Cassie Dema Harris; four brothers, Robert Dellis Harris, James Howard Vance. Harris, and William Hollis Harris.
He is survived by: nieces Glynda Fay Kirkpatrick, Pannie Lynn Chumley, Peggy Lea Trowbridge, and Becky Lee Brown and nephews James Perry Harris, Michael Reed Harris, Robert D. Harris, Jr. and Donnie Lee Harris as well as many great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be, Mike Harris, Jason Harris, Robert Harris, Don Harris, Mancel Kirkpatrick, and Bryan Nichols
Visitation will be Thursday, November 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sparkman Funeral Home, Richardson, 1029 South Greenville Avenue. Services will be conducted at Sparkman Richardson on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with the Reverend Dan Carroll officiating. Burial will follow at Restland of Dallas.
