Bernice Ash was born June 1, 1924 in Carlyle, Illinois and passed away December 4, 2017 in Mesquite, Texas, at the age of 93. She was the daughter of Elizabeth and Edward Stevenson and was raised in Belleville, Illinois graduating from Notre Dame High School class of 1941. She married Joe Allen Ash in 1942. Bernice worked for State Farm Insurance for 45 years. In her spare time Bernice enjoyed various organizations such as Catholic Daughters, AARP, VFW and being with friends. Her family and friends will always remember her as loving and generous and one who greatly enjoyed being with people. She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Skelton; granddaughter, Tonya Nolle and husband Gregory; grandson, Ronald Skelton and wife Julie; brother, Nick Stevenson; sister, Helen Schulte; and 11 great grandchildren, Katy Nolle, Nikki Nolle, Ally Nolle, Mary Nolle, Joseph Nolle, Anna Nolle, Johnny Nolle, Lucy Nolle, Julieanna Nolle, Peter Skelton, and Thomas Skelton.
