

Billy (Bill) Gene Iker was born February 1, 1939, in Corsicana, to Mr. Floyd Jeff “Bud” and Mrs. Willie “Faye” Iker. He passed away surrounded by family, on Friday, December 29, 2023. He was 84 years of age.
Bill attended Cleburne high school graduating in 1956 as a member of the Edison House. He continued his education at Texas Christian University graduating in 1963 with a Bachelor in Science where he studied engineering. Bill was active in AFROTC where he was awarded the Chicago Tribune medal for outstanding military achievement. After receiving his commission, he enlisted in the United States Air Force having earned his highest rank as Captain. Bill was assigned to the 838th Civil Engineering Squadron where he earned many awards, honors, and citations at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka, Kansas.
After the service, Bill returned to college and received his MBA from the University of Oklahoma. He was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company where he was responsible for long-range technical planning. In 2000, Bill retired from Southwestern Bell Corporation in Dallas having completed over 30 years of service.
Brother Bill Gene Iker served for 56 years in various Masonic organizations being raised to a Master Mason in Scranton Lodge #407 on April 24, 1967. He became a plural member of DeSoto #1409 on
11-14-1991 and served as Lodge Secretary 1993-94. He later became a plural member of Richardson #1214 on 8-6-96 where he served as Worshipful Master 2009-10. Bill received many honors in other Masonic groups including York Rite Masons where he served as High Priest, Thrice Illustrious Master, and Commander of the Knights Templar. He was Captain of the Dallas Commandery Drill Team winning the National Championship. Bill also served on three Degree Teams in the Scottish Rite and was active with the Hella Temple Shriners.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and several beloved cousins. He leaves behind numerous cousins including the two caregivers he lived with the last 2 years of his life. Graveside Services will be held in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, 5400 State Highway 31, near Corsicana, TX at a later date.
