Billy Joe Dawson known to his friends as BJ, passed from this life on February 9, 2013. Born to Frank and Ruby Dawson on May 30, 1926 in Naples, Texas. Billy is survived by his brother, Donald Dawson and wife Sandra; children, Sheri Springer, Michele Roberts and husband Carey, Michael Dawson and wife Doris; grandchildren, Scott Springer, Mark Springer, Chris Springer, Josh Roberts, Stacy Trammell and Brandon Dawson and, great- grandchildren; Devon, Elijah, Nicholas, BayLe, Ashlyn, Farrah, Cameron, Kaden, Logan and MacKenzie. Extended family include, Rod and Rosie Lemons and Mark and Melissa Lemons and their children, Courtney, Colleen, Jonathan.
He was a retired member of the IBEW Local 59 for 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 6796. He was a mason and a member of Scottish Rites. Bill was a member of the US Army, and was stationed in Okinawa during WWII. He will be missed by all who touched his life. Viewing will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Sparkman Funeral Home, Richardson, Texas. Graveside service will be held at 10:30am, Friday, February 15, 2013 at the VA National Cemetery. Please arrive 15 minutes early and pull into Lane C.
