Bobby G. "Bob" Hagar peacefully passed away Nov. 17, 2013, at the age of 91. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov 21, at Sparkman Funeral Home 1029 Greenville Ave., Richardson TX. Interment and Graveside service: 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas TX. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
Bob was born in Rockwall Township, Kay County Oklahoma, to Forrest and Fern Hagar, and grew up in South Haven Kansas. During WWII, he served with the 341st Army Signal Corps, and later used the GI Bill to earn a Business Administration degree from Oklahoma A&M (now OSU). He worked for American Petrofina for over 35 years before enjoying a long and happy retirement. Bob was active in his community as a member of the Elk’s Lodge, Masonic Lodge, and Hella Shrine; as well as being the overall neighborhood Handyman and de facto “Mayor”.
The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge and thank the top-notch caregivers at Montereau Retirement Community and St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa for all their loving help during the twilight of Bob’s life.
Survivors: Bob is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Anna Mae; daughter Martha, son-in-law Gene, granddaughters Kelli and Dana, grandson Ben and one great-granddaughter; son Charles, daughter-in-law Kristy, granddaughters Rachel and Laura; along with several cousins and numerous friends.
