

Celia (Sally) Irvin, of Richardson, Texas passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022. Celia was born on November 7, 1943 in Laredo, Texas. In 1954 she moved with her family to Brownsville, Texas. She attended Incarnate Word for elementary and junior high school and then Villa Maria High school in Brownsville. In May 1965 she graduated from Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Education. She married Dave Irvin in December 1970 and had two wonderful children.
Celia had a career in education teaching primarily 4th, 5th and 6 graders over a span of 26 years. This included teaching in Brownsville and Richardson Independent School Districts. After her retirement in 2002 she devoted her life to working for others. This included delivering Meals on Wheels and serving ministerial needs of people who are home-bound. The biggest loves of her life were her two children and five grandchildren. She loved them so dearly and cherished every day with them.
She enjoyed traveling and made it to all but one state, Alaska. She will always be remembered for her friendliness and respectfulness and most importantly her passionate allegiance to the University of Texas --- she bled orange. HOOK ‘EM HORNS!!!
She was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson since its inception. She was preceded in death by her father and mother Ramon Aguilar Jr and Concepcion Aguilar, sisters Alicia Martin and Theresa Cuellar, and brother Javier Aguilar. She is survived by her husband Dave, son Jim (Pamela) Irvin and grandchildren Dylan, Sydney, and Carrington, and daughter Karen (Shawn) Durham and grandchildren Isabel, Luke, and Nora, and brother Ramon Aguilar III.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 5:30-7:30pm in Sparkman Funeral Home, Richardson, with a rosary service beginning at 6:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 1:30pm in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd., Richardson, TX 75081. The family invites memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society.
