Recuerdos

David Duwayne Wise

¿TIENE UN RECUERDO O UNA CONDOLENCIA QUE AÑADIR?

AÑADIR UN RECUERDO

David was one of my favorite cousins. He was an intellectual giant of the family. He loved his family and that includes both sides of his blood lines the Wise and McKeehan lines. He took pride that he was descended from multiple participants in the American Revolution and the Huguenots that founded New York City. He proudly shared his information gleaned from his research. Most of all he loved his son Alex who is fulfilling his dreams. David was a self-made man in the American tradition, both in his education and his career. He was a dreamer, also dreaming of retiring to his ancestral McKeehan area of Cass County, TX, but cut short. Brother Barry is carrying on that dream for him and Alex. Appropriate to his style, I will never forget the 80 mph procession from memorial service in Richardson to his interment in Arlington National Cemetery. His burial site is across the street from my brother Richard Kent McKeehan and wife.

We met a while ago, 25 years maybe. I said: “I think one day we will do something together.” David said: “I think you may be right about that.”
A month or so ago, we sat down for dinner at the Y.O. Ranch. He laid out what he was doing, and said : “Coz, I’d like you to run the office in Dallas for that, is that something you would want to do?” I, of course, said yes. The chance to be a part of his dream, and he had many, would be the thrill of a lifetime, and I still think it can be. A man so brilliant, so void of ego, so always more interested in what others had going on in their lives, more so than his own, is not a man that comes into your path but once. His work, barely begun, should be continued, carrying on his lifetime legacy of always helping others.
I shall miss him.

David, I cannot believe you’re gone. My heart is heavy but I also rejoice knowing that God has you exactly where he wants you. My mind is flooded with all the memories we made in business and traveling the country together. The hours you put in to ensure that our business was a success was inspiring beyond words.

Thank you for your friendship and partnership my friend. May God comfort your family and friends.

Words cannot express how saddened our hearts are to hear the passing of David. He is fondly held in our hearts and memories.
Mom loved to work with David on genealogy and go with him to Scott Mountain to research and listen to the wealth of information he would share. She enjoyed the genealogy missions David would send her on, and would beam with pride when she was able to accomplish the answers to his requests, these missions helped her through difficult health issues, and gave her strength to continue when she felt like giving up.
I am sorry we will not be able to attend and offer comfort during this difficult time, please know we hold you in our hearts, thoughts and prayers, and may God and Angels guide you through.
Sending our Love, Dorothy Jane, Glenn Buckley,
Sherri, Jonathan, Joshua, and Glen Alan

David Wise was an exceptional man. I remember our Younger Days at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church. We grew up and our families were like family back in the day. David was always an astute young boy that grew up into a Swell Man. The Wise family meant so very much to my family and still does... David, You will be Missed greatly. You fought a hard Battle and you lived onn longer than most would have. Now onto your Final Reward. You will remain in our hearts. No one can take all the memories from us that we all shared as children. May your family be comforted by the legacy you have left them.
David......RIP......

David and I worked together since 2011 on genealogy sorting out the Wise family’s in Tennessee. He was very instrumental in discovering the different branches through DNA. We search all the archives and determine there were three different lines.

However through the process we discovered that we were related through the Lane family.

We had many discussions, phone calls and wonderful conversations about history, discovery’s and his hopes and dreams. Loved his family and was so proud of his son.

He’s passing is a really big loss, hope someone carries on his work and the tool he made with the university for grave extraction. He will be always remember.
