Services for Emma Elizabeth Thompson, 90, of Richardson, will be 10:00 am Monday, November 26, 1012 at Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 South Greenville, Richardson, TX 75081. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park. She passed away Sunday, November 18 in Orlando, Florida. Elizabeth was born April 15, 1922 in Smithville, Tennessee to John Cantrell and Maude Taylor Cantrell. After graduation she attended St Joseph School of Nursing in Memphis, Tennessee. She worked as a nurse in the Dallas area at Baylor and Doctors Hospital among others. She retired in 2001 at the age of 79. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Wyatt Thompson Jr. in 2004. Survivors include three sons; Hugh Thompson III, John Thompson and David Thompson, one daughter, Elizabeth Stanberry, five grandchildren; Katie Gurka, Lindsey Stanberry, Martin Stanberry, Jennifer Thompson, Chris Thompson and two great-grandchildren Connor and Garrett Wilson.
