George, 67, went to be with the Lord on July 31st, 2016 as the result of a car accident. He will be forever missed. George lived his life as though every day was his last. His spirit will live on because his smile will never be forgotten and he gave the best hugs.
George was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Anne and George Willam Hoobler Sr. He attended Moeller High School, graduating in 1966 and received a full ride to the University of Cincinnati as a sports equipment manager, graduating in 1971. George loved an adventure. After graduating college, he travelled Europe with a childhood friend on their Triumph Motorcycles. He married the love of his life, Margaret Addell Hollinsgworth Hoobler on February 12th, 1977. They had three children together: George William Hoobler III (Trey), Howard Forshey Hoobler (Forshey), and Margaret Addell (Addie) Hoobler. Many say Addie stole his heart the day she was born.
George worked for several small companies before moving his family to Dallas in 1983. In Dallas, he found his passion working in the construction industry. He had a successful career, known as one of the most loyal and dedicated employees.
George was an honorable man and never met a stranger. He loved life and shared his love with many. When you heard George’s name – you smiled, when you knew he was coming to visit you - it was like anticipating Santa Claus, and when he entered the room - there was nothing but joy. He was a man of few words, but everyone listened and he told fabulous stories. His messages were clear and will never be forgotten. He was one of the most grounded and humble men to walk this earth.
His mother Anne Hoobler, father George Hoobler, and brother Mike Hoobler precede him in death. His wife Margaret Hoobler, son Trey Hoobler, daughter-in-law Whitney Hoobler, son Forshey Hoobler, daughter Addie Hoobler Elsbecker, son-in-law Steve Elsbecker and granddaughter Marianne Elsbecker survive him. His sister Marianne Staubach, sister Marcia Simmons, and sister Susan Hoobler Little also survive him. And he leaves behind brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends who loved him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Parkinson Voice Project. A funeral mass will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas on Saturday August 6th, 2016 at 1pm. A reception will follow at All Saints Catholic Church.
