
James McCord Sewell II was born on June 3, 1939 in Harlingen, TX to James and Charlotte Sewell. James earned his Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech and went on to work as a tax advisor. He enjoyed outdoor activities and was an avid hunter and fisherman. One of his favorite stories was telling of a rafting trip with a group of scouts. James was very good with a bull whip. He would whirl it around over his head and finish with a loud crack. Most of all, Jim loved his family, which was good because he had a very large family. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 15 years, as well as his children Mary Carol McGregor and James McCord Sewell III. Brothers, George B. Sewell, Frederic D. Sewell, and John c. Sewell. Grandchildren, Jeffrey Holloway, Bryn Taylor, Ryan Sewell, Matthew Sewell, and Megan Sewell. Step children, Jana Whitcomb, Kim Nazario, Tona Buster Nazario, Todd Nazario, and Julie Lipsey. Step grandchildren, Levi Whitcomb, Lacy Whitcomb, Utah Whitcomb, Joab Nazario, Uriah Nazario, Vladimir Buster, Aksana Buster, Nicholas Nazario, Zachary Nazario, Evan Lipsey, and Ethan Lipsey and 3 step great grandchildren, Jayden, Anna, and Anderson Whitcomb. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Worthy Student Fund of the North Dallas Adventist Academy, 302 Centennial Blvd., Richardson, TX 75081 There will be a memorial service at 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Richardson Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1201 W. Beltline Road, Richardson, TX 75080.
