Luis Cardona Valdespino

Luis Cardona Valdespino went to heaven to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Friday, November 21, 2025; he was 76 years old. Luis was born on August 25, 1949, in Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila, Mexico, to Maria del Rosario and Jose Valdespino. He married Marina Estrada Perales in 1968. They were married for 57 years.

Luis was known to his family as a loving, generous, and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Godfather, brother, uncle, and cousin. He treasured the opportunities to spend time with family – and his family likewise treasured the time they spent with him. He was a man’s man, who always took care of his family and loved ones the best he could. He always accepted his responsibilities – and more. Though his lessons could be tough – he never stopped loving and providing for his family.

Luis retired as an accomplished cement mason, finisher, and general construction worker. He took pride in his work and in his ability to learn new ways to create and repair projects. All his accomplishments came from a life of experience – through the toughest of roads. In his youth he was a golden gloves boxer, and he remained a skilled fighter throughout his life. He worked in many fields – mostly in construction. There was nothing that could keep him down – no matter how hard some tried.

Luis is preceded in death by his parents (Jose and Maria del Rosario), his brothers Jose, Rodolfo, Rutilio, Evelio, and Armando; and his sisters Consuelo, Oralia, and Jovita.

He is survived by his loving wife Marina, children Maria (Michael Schultz), Luis Jr. (Angela), Jacinto (Sandra), Juana (Michael Gaytan), Irma (Jonathan Gutierrez), and Rodolfo (Marta); grandchildren Christopher, Yvette (Cody), Isaac, Felicity, Nathalie, Joaquin, Jonathan, Eduardo, Matthew, Mateo, Tori, Michael, Olivia, and Elijah, and great grandchild Xavier, sisters Rosa and Lupe, and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and other family members.

Luis’ legacy will live on through all those he loved and for whom he cared.
