Lynda was born in Caddo, Oklahoma and later moved to Dallas, Texas where she was raised; she carried her roots with her throughout her life, embodying warmth, strength, and a deep love for her family. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1959, a place where lifelong friendships were created.
Lynda dedicated an incredible 65 years as a bookkeeper at City Motor Supply, where her loyalty, work ethic, and integrity left a lasting impact across three generations of ownership. She was deeply respected not only for her dedication, but for the relationships she built over the decades.
She had a love for music and community, and found great joy at the Grapevine Opry, where she was both a devoted attendee and a volunteer. She generously gave her time there, serving as Treasurer for many years. In her spare time, Lynda treasured being with her children and grandchildren, traveling with her sister Nona, and preserving memories through scrapbooking.
Lynda will be remembered most for her generosity—always giving of her time, her love, and her heart to those around her.
Lynda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Foster; her parents, Cleo and Aletha Caviness; her sister, Shirley Gray; and her brother, Wayne Caviness.
She is survived by her daughter, Dana Hall; her son, Bradley Rosser; her cherished grandchildren, Robyn Balthrop (Ethan Balthrop) and Ryan Hall (Ariana Hall); her precious great-grandchild, Eastyn Balthrop; and her sister, Winnona Hunsinger. Her family was her greatest pride, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through them.
A visitation will be held at Sparkman Funeral Home on March 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Restland Cemetery starting at 1:30 p.m.
Lynda will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
