Manuel was born in Corpus Christi, TX, but he was raised in Dallas, TX, where he attended Skyline High School. After High School, he worked a variety of jobs before finding his true passion was in the Telecommunications industry. He began his career as a line technician, and worked his way up to Supervisor and later to a management position. His job required frequent travel, which allowed him to meet many wonderful people along the way.
Manuel began working for the Wilkins Groups, where he met his invaluable mentor, Mr. Thomas Wilkins. Manuel dedicated considerable time to learning from Mr. Wilkins, absorbing every detail about how to achieve success. Through self-education and diligence, Manuel gained a deep understanding of telecommunications. Eventually, he decided to take a leap of faith and apply his knowledge by starting his own business, launching multiple companies from Chicago to Texas.
Manuel met Irmary, his wife of 19 years, in Chicago after she applied for an Office Administrator position. He would slowly capture her heart by slowly taking care of her, buying her lunch, letting her leave early to be with her children. After a few months, Manuel and Irmary started building a life together. Manuel worked hard and was a provider for his family. Irmary and Manuel later moved to Texas to continue their life and manage his new Telecommunications Company. He was a perfectionist, organized, always on time, disciplined and did not expect anything less from his family and friends.
Manuel was a self-proclaimed Texan! He loved BBQ, Cheese Enchiladas, and of course BIG Red. He had a deep passion for cars and driving, with a particular fondness for his collectible ’65 Ford Mustang in a perfect shade of baby blue. He enjoyed watching Family Feud with Steve Harvey, The Sopranos, and his favorite movie was Scarface. Manuel also had an affinity for Lucchese Western Boots, gold jewelry, and was an avid collector of cologne and cigars. He enjoyed dancing the Tejano music well into the night and was known to play a mean game of pool, often winning without hesitation. He was a man of luxury and elegance, who knew how to enjoy life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife Irmary; children Victoria, Matthew, Amanda, Desire, Daniel, Julian and Manuelito; grandchildren Kaiden, Joseph, Moriah, Ashton, Aiden, Anistyn, Ariel, Giselle, Chanel, Roger Jr., Jazabelle and Kloe; his mother Maria; sister Esmeralda, brother Jose, many aunts and uncles, and cousins, and his beloved wiener dog Hershey.
Manuel is predeceased by his father Jose Francisco Gonzalez, Manuel Olivarez, Elvira Olivarez, Maricella Luna.
He will be missed greatly by his family, friends, and everyone whose lives he touched.
