Mary Alice Morrison

Mary was born in Wappapello, Missouri to Harley and Myrtle Faries. Her parents both died when she was young and Mary was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mary and Cyril Faries. On July 4, 1947, Mary married the late George Mayfield. Mary and George had 2 daughters, Patricia and Janet. George’s work relocated the family around the country to St. Louis, Missouri; Ft. Wayne, Indiana; St. Paul, Minnesota; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and in 1965 to Dallas, Texas. Mary worked as a secretary for Englander Mattress Company and was an office manager for several prominent Dallas-area physicians. George passed away on August 1, 1978.

On October 8, 1983, Mary married Ralph Edward Morrison. Mary was always active in her church community. She attended Park Cities Baptist Church where she met Ralph, and they later attended Prestonwood Baptist Church. Mary was a great cook and loved hosting family and Sunday School groups. Mary loved the arts, collected porcelain and glass figurines, and enjoyed writing poetry and painting.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Cyril and Mary Faries, and her late husbands George Mayfield and Ralph Morrison. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Peters and Janet Torres, three sons Steve Morrison, Wayne Morrison, and Larry Morrison; her 16 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. Due to the Covid concerns, there will be a small family graveside service at Restland Cemetary.
