

Patricia Brady Montgomery Harwerth, beloved Mother to 6 children and mother figure to 6 additional bonus-children, passed away on 06/30/23 at the age of 90. She left behind a legacy of leadership, teaching, prayer, and love that will forever enrich her family and friends.
Born in Pampa Texas in late 1932, Patricia was the only daughter of Howard and Hilda Brady. She was a child of the Depression, a teenager during WWII, and Due to various family moves seeking work, she became interested in many things and never let fear or doubt stop her from trying anything. She graduated from Jordan High School in Long Beach California with honors, while her mother and grandmother worked as “Rosie the Riveter” with her father at McDonald Douglas.
In 1949 she visited family in Pampa where she met Bobby Joe Montgomery and fell in love. They were wed on Valentine’s Day in 1953 and dedicated themselves to Family until his death in 1983. In the meantime, they raised 6 children, became faithful Catholics, and eventually became owners of a Kwik Kopy franchise, which they grew until Bob’s passing in 1983. .
In 1993, Patricia married Robert Joseph Harwerth, and became a mother to his 6 children. The 12 total children bought folding tables and chairs as a wedding gift, which served them well throughout their lives together in Gun Barrel City, Texas. They dedicated themselves to their church, and to various home improvement and construction projects, teaching many of their grandchildren the merits of hard work and fishing at their Cedar Creek lakehouse.
Pat’s true claim to fame came as a prayer warrior, fostered through a Covenant with the Christian Community of God’s Delight. There she learned to teach Scripture, learned about the Spiritual life, and learned to pray, pray, and pray. It is this part of her life that shaped so many others.
Patricia is survived by her children Sharon (Tom) Harman, Terry (Tom) McDowell, Robert (Gretchen) Montgomery, John (Cristi) Montgomery, Jo Anna (Mike) Mayers, and Paul (Kim) Montgomery. She is also survived by her Harwerth bonus children Julie (Roger) VanScoy, Mike (Karen) Harwerth, Steve (Gloria) Harwerth, Victoria (Chris) Spratt, Mary (David) Rogers, and Joy (Dino) Remedios. She is also survived by 37 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.
The Family wants to honor the staff at Appletree Court in Richardson, and Holding Hands Hospice for the genuine love and care they showed to our Mother over the last 5 years
A Vigil and Rosary celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, July 5 at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home (1029 S Greenville Ave, Richardson, TX 75081) with visitation beginning at 6:00PM, and Vigil/Rosary beginning at 7:00PM, and a funeral Mass at All Saints Catholic Church located at 5231 Meadowcreek Dr, Richardson, TX 75248 at 11:00AM.
Patricia will be greatly missed, but her entire family has joy in the confidence that she is before the throne of God interceding for them.
