Randall W. Minton, lovingly known as Randy, passed away peacefully on January 27, while at home in Addison, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family. His passing comes after a remarkable journey marked by resilience and grace. Following a double lung transplant at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Campus in 2013, Randy and his family were given twelve precious additional years together — years filled with gratitude, love, laughter, and meaningful moments.
Randy was proud to be the first college graduate in his family, earning his degree from Arizona State University. He went on to build a successful engineering business alongside his family, specializing in conveyor systems for microchips. His career reflected who he was at his core: intelligent, hardworking, and endlessly resourceful, with a natural talent for solving problems and building something lasting.
Beyond his work, Randy truly embraced life. He had a deep love for the outdoors and a spirit of adventure that took him across land and sea, especially through his passion for scuba diving and travel. He delighted in music, margaritas, great food, lively conversation, and time spent with friends. Above all, he treasured his family — especially his grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride.
Randy is survived by his devoted wife, Tamara W. Minton; his daughter, Alexandra Minton Fraler and her husband Michael Fraler; his son, Wesley Nathan Minton and his wife, Carisa Minton; and his cherished grandchildren, Adaline Rose Minton, Sean Randall Fraler, Logan James Minton, and Nicholas Lee Fraler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex W. Minton and Betty Virginia Minton.
Randy will be remembered for his humor, integrity, strength, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His life stands as a testament to perseverance, devotion, and the power of living fully, even in the face of great adversity. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a life truly well-lived. May his memory be a blessing.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 6 pm to 8 pm at Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home.
