Richard Hyman Matthews, 89, of Dallas, TX passed away on May 20, 2016. He was born in Denver, CO on July 20, 1926. He graduated from U of Colorado Boulder, CO and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
He was married to Hazel Henderson on October 5, 1951. Dick had a career in Geophysics for G.S.I. and TLC. He was a member of the Dallas Geophysical Association and had a passion for reading, learning, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel, his children; Rebecca Gunderson, Deborah Matthews, and Paul Matthews; Grandchildren, Amanda Medina, Merileigh Cormin, Alison Grizzle, Katherine Cuevas, Jillian Matthews, Holly Gunderson, Rosa Rodrigues, and Kayla Matthews; Greatgrandchildren; Alexis Gunderson, Isabel Medina, Mackenzie Grizzle, and Eden Cuevas, and one sister Lee Stasierowski.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Spring Valley UMC at 10:00 AM.
