Stephanie Nicole Shires

Stephanie Nicole Shires was born October 8, 1985 in Dallas, TX, and passed away September 23, 2016, in Irving, TX. Stephanie grew up in Garland, TX. While attending High School, at the age of 15, Stephanie met her husband, Oscar Almaraz. Stephanie and Oscar would later be blessed with two beautiful children, Daniel and Kaitlynn Almaraz.

Stephanie is also survived by her father, Rodney Shires, and mother Cheryl Holsomback and step father, Barry Peel; sister, Samantha Guevara with husband Pete; niece Maddison Guevara and nephew Julian Guevara; great grandmother, Louis Shires; grandparents Walter and Janell Lopez,; grandfather Billy Shires; Grandmother Rita Grey; aunts and uncles Greg and Cindy Sharp, Troy and Lynn Kale, Kevin and Christie Meister, Walter Lopez Jr., and Bobby and Tonda Shires; cousins Jonathan Ruthenborg, Jennifer Campbell, Kyle Meister, Anthony Lopez, and Andrea Lopez; as well as a host of many other family members.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her Great Grandfather William "Bill" Jack Shires and Grandfather, Ray Gene Pryor.

Stephanie will be remembered as our wild horse that we could never tame. Her heart was made of gold. She never met a stranger; if she felt someone was in need she would help anyway she knew. Whether it be by letting them have a place to stay, giving money, or just lending an ear; she always gave it her all. Her heart was kind, warm, and nurturing with people as well with all the animals she rescued throughout her life. If you knew Stephanie you knew she loved, I mean loved animals, especially cats.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM. Both services will be held at the Sparkman Funeral Home, 1029 South Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081. Burial will be immediately after the funeral service at Garland Memorial Cemetery, 1600 South Garland Avenue, Garland, TX 75040. Pastor Kerry Sampson will officiate the services.
