

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Thuy Dinh Tran, a devoted Husband, cherished Father, respected Scout Master, and compassionate Physician, who departed this life on June 16, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born on February 24, 1938, in Nam Dinh, Vietnam, Dr. Tran lived a life marked by service, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and community. He proudly served in the Vietnamese Air Force, embodying courage and commitment to his homeland during a great time of change. He also achieved the level of Scout Master and was revered by numerous students under his tutelage. With great tenacity, he fearlessly uprooted his young family from Vietnam in 1975 to find a new home and opportunities in America.
Dr. Tran pursued his calling in medicine, establishing a respected family practice in the community of Merkel, TX, where he cared for generations of patients with kindness and tireless devotion. His caring demeanor and healing hands brought comfort to countless lives, and his legacy of compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. To his family, friends, and patients, Dr. Tran was more than a physician, he was a guiding light, a source of strength, and a man of great wisdom.
Dr. Tran is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ly Ngoc Vu Tran, whose partnership and love sustained him through every chapter of life. Together, they built a family rooted in love, resilience, and shared dreams. He also leaves behind his four compassionate children:
Dr. Trung D Tran, his wife Mimi Vuong Tran, their children Dr. Tien Tran and his wife Dr. Jackie Phan, and Dr. Thi Tran;
Dr. Tinou Roncone, her husband Dr. Chris Roncone, their children Nicky and Matthew;
Dr. Michou Shell, her husband Dr. Jeff Shell, their children Sloane and Sutton;
Trinh Tran, his wife Trinh Vo-Tran, their twin children Finley and Ellie.
His life was a testament to the power of love, service, and perseverance. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will forever remain a blessing.
