

George “Ross” White passed away peacefully on January 1, 2012 at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Center in Wilmington, NC after an extended illness. He is preceded in death by his parents: George R. “Shad” White and Helen West White; and one sister Anna Kaugher. He is survived by his wife Clemmie Carlyle Davis White, step-son Jimmy Davis and wife Rosemarie of Richlands, NC; step-son Steve Davis and wife Dana of Richlands, NC; one granddaughter Makenzie Miller and husband Jason of Jacksonville, NC, three grandsons, John Howard Hill, Jake Davis, and Matthew Davis of Richlands, NC; and one sister Rowe Hobbs and husband Dick of Vero Beach, Fl.
Ross retired from the Onslow County School System where he taught Driver Education and coached various sports at Richlands High School. In addition to teaching, he enjoyed instructing and playing golf for many years at Rock Creek Country Club with his life-long friends. He was an excellent father and devoted husband. Ross and his “Clem” shared an enduring love that lasted for over 38 years. They were inseparable and enjoyed their life together to the fullest in all they did.
A Funeral Service will be Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Richlands with Reverend Roger White, Reverend Gary McAbee and Reverend Norman Aycock officiating. Burial will be at the Onslow Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Richlands on Wednesday.
