George and Lois Schwind entered into the arms of Jesus in December of 2022. They lived life devoted to God and to each other, so it is fitting that they entered Heaven mere hours apart. As individuals they lived full lives, but together, in their 73 years of marriage, is where they flourished as they lived a life of faith, love, loyalty, adventure and service. Their accomplishments were vast and varied: George was an aviation pioneer responsible for flight data and cockpit voice recorders, TCAS system, evangelist, inventor, stained glass artist, wood carver, diy extraordinaire and preserver of family. Lois was an accomplished artist, seamstress, gardener, volunteer, unwavering nurturer and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Their lives and dreams were achieved through their dedication and devotion to God and each other. It was a union based on love, respect, honor, integrity, courage, compassion and joy. Lifelong Californians, they began life in San Jose, California, moved to Saratoga where they raised their three children before moving to Santa Rosa and eventually Napa, before God called them home. They remain forever and always in the hearts and souls of those left behind including their children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. As a family we are eternally grateful that with honesty they lived what they believed, that they found joy in each day, approached difficulties with resolve and lived life with faith, love, compassion, laughter and a helping hand. It is bittersweet as we mourn the loss of them in our daily lives, yet blessed beyond measure to have belonged to them. Our hearts both rejoice over the lives they lived and the beautiful legacy that shall continue, and yet we are filled with sorrow as we laid them to rest in the presence of our eternal God. On this side of glory, we join with all of Heaven as we worship and praise God’s eternal promise that one day we shall meet again in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
