

Lindsey J. Berry, Jr. (Jerry) age 82, of Rodeo, California passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021. He was born on November 14, 1939, in Memphis Tennessee, to Lindsey J. Berry, Sr. and Idella Gertrude Bledsoe Berry and was the youngest of three children.
Jerry was educated in the Alameda County School District. He enlisted in the US Navy in January 1957 and served until 1963. Shortly after serving in the Navy, he began a career with the US Postal Service retiring after 42 years.
In June 1964, Jerry married the love of his life Evelyn Ewell, and they were blessed with three children.
Known as “Snake” to his friends, he enjoyed bowling and watching boxing, football, and movies while lounging in his recliner. He was into DIY before it was a movement (who needs a remote control /dishwasher when you have three kids?)
Jerry was opinionated and stubborn, but he also had a good sense of humor and was a hardworking man who took care of his family. He will be missed.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn Ewell Berry, his granddaughter Alicea Noel DeVera, and sister, Mary Parker.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children Danita Berry DeVera (Arnel), Damon Berry and Deanna Berry, a very special daughter Constance Lewis (Carlene), Grandchildren Devin Marques Nickleberry, Kaeliana Nichele Marie DeVera, Niko Antonio DeVera (Kendall), and Anyssa Danel Nicole DeVera. Sister Elsa Virginia Horton, brother-in-law Harry Ewell, Jr. (Ruby), sister in laws Gladys Ewell Wilkerson and Gina R. Ewell, his furry friend Gypsy and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A public viewing for Lindsey will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Fuller Funerals, Inc, 3100 Cutting Blvd, Richmond, CA 94804. Following the public viewing will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Rolling Hills Memorial Park, 4100 Hilltop Dr, Richmond, CA 94803.
