Schwing, Jr., 2/10/28 - 11/22/13 was survived by his wife of 55 years, Edith Schwing, his children Karla Schwing McCollum and Eric Schwing of Richmond, VA, Helene Ashby of Atwater, California, Evelyne Schwing of Palmdale, California, and Victoria Ziegler (predeceased) of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, parents (predeceased) Mary Noonan and Albert J. Schwing, Sr. of Johnstown, PA, siblings (all predeceased) William Schwing, Helene Jones, Alberta Crossen, 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, devoted nieces, Kathryn Jones and Susan Kang, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Clubs/Associations: Kiwanis International, German Mountain Division Friendship Club
Military career: Drafted into WWII and served with Army Air Corps, Washington, D.C., served with the Counter Intelligence Corps/66th Military Brigade in Korea and Germany, SGM, Armed Forces Recreation Centers, Garmisch, Germany, ROTC instructor, West Virginia University, Army Advisor to the Ohio National Guard, served in Vietnam, where he earned the Bronze Star Medal of Honor, earned his B.A., University of Maryland, and M.B.A., Boston University, graduated summa , post-retirement he became an adjunct Professor for Boston University overseas
