

BLANKENSHIP, Amanda M., 19, of Sandston, Va., passed away February 28, 2015 Amanda was born May 17, 1995.To Edward W. Blankenship III and Michelle. She is the second oldest of five children. When Amanda was 6, her father passed away. Michelle and Scott Traylor married and blended 2 families into one. Amanda attended Seven Pines Elementary, Elko middle school and graduated from Hanover High. She graduated a year early at the age 17 and was accepted into VCU. Throughout Amanda’s life, she was an outstanding scholar and talented dancer. She danced for many years at Tiffany’s School of Dance and received many awards. Amanda loved to read, loved the beach and loved dogs. She was a beautiful daughter and sister, granddaughter and friend to many, and will be greatly missed. She was predeceased by her father, Edward W. Blankenship III. She is survived by her parents, Michelle and Scott Traylor; siblings, Stephanie, Emily, Jeffrey and Samantha; her maternal grandparents, Courtenay and George Peyton; her paternal grandmother, Marjorie Blankenship; and great-aunt, Debbie. Amanda had numerous dance awards, academic awards and took classes at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Where a chapel service will take place 11 a.m. Thursday.
