

ROOKS, Ann Ford, 75, of Richmond, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016, at 7:30 in the evening, to join her Heavenly Father. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam L. Rooks Sr.; and her mother, Annie Ford. She is survived by her father, George Ford Sr.; her son, Sam L. Rooks Jr. (Robin); her daughters, Theresa Rooks and Caralee Rooks Belcher (Larry); granddaughters, Kelsey Rooks McLain (Kevin) and Jocelyn Rooks Lindsay (Matthew); and grandson, Lawrence Belcher; siblings, Dot Langley (E.L.), Barbara Clanton (Phil), George Ford Jr. (Susan), Tommy Ford (Donna), David Ford; 22 nieces and nephews and a devoted extended family. She was a devout Christian, a faithful church member of Skipwith Baptist Church and an active member of the Richmond Emmaus Community. Ann loved spending time at the beach with her family, singing in choir, reading, gardening and spending time with her loved ones. She was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her example is a legacy her family will cherish and she will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Woody Funeral Home-Parham Chapel, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. Her memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Skipwith Baptist Church, 1900 Skipwith Rd., Richmond, Va. 23229. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. A reception will follow at Skipwith Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Skipwith Baptist Church in Ann's memory.
