Anne Colgin Buchanan

Buchanan, Anne Colgin, 89 of Glen Allen and Henrico, Virginia, passed away December 7, 2013 peacefully in her sleep with the Angels waiting to carry her to her heavenly home and to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Earl and Barbara Godsey Colgin, four brothers, Richard, Floyd, Clyde and Marvin, two sisters, Dorothy Woolridge and Virginia Traylor and one grandson, Travis Buchanan.

She was the widow of W.T Buchanan. They had a wonderful marriage of 27 years. The first 12 years of marriage they lived in Abilene, TX. and the remaining years together in Glen Allen, Va. She said they were a family of Texginians.

She is survived by her son, Boyd Buchanan (Sharon), daughter, Karen Kelly (Billy), son Dorvin Buchanan, (partner, Nancy Allen) and her daughter, Dotti Rickard (Donald), 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Daughter Dotti and son-in-law, Donald Rickard were blessed to have her living with them the last 7 years of her life where she was truly loved and adored. She had many caregivers the last 11 months of her life, too many to name. A special thanks to her niece, Christine Colgin, for all of the loving care she provided Anne since March of 2013.

You could look the world over and not find a more loving, kind and spiritual person. She was a wonderful wife, Mother and friend to anyone that was blessed to have her in their life. She will be dearly missed and loved by many.

There will be a viewing at the Woody Funeral Home located at 1771 Parham Rd. on Monday, December 9, 2013 between 6 and 8 PM. Funeral services will be held there as well on Tuesday, December 9, 2013 at 2 PM. There will be a gathering for family and friends, following the service, at the home of Dotti and Donald Rickard, located at 8303 Gwinnett Rd., Henrico, VA. 23229.
