MILLER, Audrey B., slipped quietly away last Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Laurels of Bon Air after an extended illness. Her family and friends greatly appreciate the loving care she received her last nine months while staying at the Laurels. Audrey was a long-time employee of C&P Telephone, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. Audrey was a life-long member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Richmond and active in its Woman's Club. Until her dying days the church outreach program stayed active in Audrey's life, bringing her meals, shuttling her around town, and at times just being there to listen. Audrey enjoyed reading her entire life, compiling a personal library of over 10,000 volumes. On several occasions she was featured in articles in the Richmond Times-Dispatch describing her work as a tutor and reading assistant at Westover Hills Model Elementary School. On her dying day over 12 volumes of literature were at her bedside. Audrey was the only child of two only children, but left behind members of an extended family across the United States. Audrey in her final years was supported by Matt and Becky Teasdale, and Matt's sister, Becky Lane. A graveside service at Maury Cemetery will be conducted Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 2pm by Pastor John Lynch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests your donations be made to Audrey's life-long church, Woodland Heights Baptist Church, 611 W. 31st St., Richmond, Va. 23225 or the Laurels of Bon Air, 9101 Bon Air Crossings Dr., Richmond, Va. 23235.
