Glory be to God, the Living, the Eternal. We belong to God, and to Him we shall return.
Mr. Bachir Jamil Aboulhosn
1936-2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bachir Jamil Aboulhosn, who peacefully passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026. Bachir was born on December 12, 1936, in his beloved hometown of Btekhnay, Lebanon.
From a young age, Bachir demonstrated determination, creativity, and ambition. He immigrated to the United States in 1956, where he built an exceptional career as an entrepreneur and talented carpenter, owning and operating numerous businesses. Bachir loved making deals and connecting with people from all over the world. His success was rooted in what those who knew him admired most: his kindness, generosity, and tireless work ethic.
In Virginia, he owned and operated Noah’s Ark Antiques, where he shared his passion for history, carpentry, and community. Many knew him by nicknames such as “Noah,” “Jimmy,” or “Basil.” He found immense joy in being a father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He welcomed all with compassion, instinctively recognizing their potential and offering support, guidance, and encouragement as if they were his own family.
Bachir kept pace with the times, constantly learning, adapting, and staying engaged with the world around him. He delighted in sharing Turkish coffee, a meal, or a deep conversation with anyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he built a life in America, Bachir never forgot his roots. He carried the values, traditions, and spirit of Lebanon in his heart, sharing them generously with family, friends, and all who crossed his path.
Bachir was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, brother, and friend. He was truly a remarkable man—a rare soul and gentle giant whose kindness, warmth, and presence left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He had a brilliant sense of humor that could brighten even the heaviest days. His love for others knew no limits. He was a beacon of warmth, laughter, and compassion to everyone around him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved son, Ramsey Jamil.
