David Nelson Morrison

MORRISON, David N., 81, a native of Troy, N. Y. and a resident of Richmond for over 50 years left us peacefully January 13, 2015. He was a graduate of Hartwick College, Oneonta, New York, having received a full four year basketball scholarship. He served 2 years in the US Army and from there went on to a career with Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. where he retired after 37 years of loyal service. Big Dave was a generous and hardworking father, grandfather and friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Thomas Morrison; his brother, Tom and a loving daughter-in-law, Laura. He is survived by his wife Sandy of 57 years; sisters, Ruth Neils and Bernice Morrison; his three sons, Tim (Brenda) , David and Peter (Sue) ; grandchildren, Patrick, Ryan, Jeanne and Becca; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2pm.
