David Timothy Willis

David Timothy Willis, age 63, of Montpelier, VA passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024. He is the son of the late Robert and Barbara Willis of Ashland VA. He is also predeceased by his brother Robert Willis Jr. David grew up on the family horse farm in Henrico VA, where he learned to rope and ride with his family. David attended Collegiate School class of 1979, and later went on to Ferrum College in Ferrum VA where he earned his associates degree. While attending Ferrum he met the love of his life Lori Underwood Willis. After college, he became a fifth generation brick mason, where he started his own business in 1999 after his fathers retirement.

In his later years, he enjoyed traveling with his family. Some of the trips included going to the beach, Dollywood, Florida, Texas, and the Delfest music festival. He enjoyed eating out with his friends and family and telling jokes. Some of his accomplishments were fastest trowel on the block, a member of the masonry contractors associates of VA, and winning awards for his intricate and beautiful masonry work.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Lori Underwood Willis, children; Robert Willis, Jason Willis (Kelly), Kevin Willis, Ellen Willis; grandchildren, Paisley Willis, Maci Johnson, Finn Willis, Elliot Willis, Charlee Willis, Calvin Willis; Sister, Robin P. Willis (Pat Norris); also numerous family and friends.

A visitation will take place on Saturday March 9, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. where a funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. Following the service the will be a committal service at Westhampton Cemetery 10000 Patterson Ave, Richmond, VA 23228. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Richmond SPCA 2519 Hermitage Road, Richmond, VA 23220.
