MARKEL, Doris R., 85, of Glen Allen, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 30, 2013. She retired from Miami Youth for Christ after 30 plus years of service. She is survived by her husband of 66 years George V. Markel; her three children, George R. Markel (Carol), Nancy J. Smith (Chester) and Jimmie E. Markel (Debbie); nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; her sister, Nancy L. Wood. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Thursday, July 4, 2013 at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. Her funeral service will be held 11am Friday July 5, 2013 at Mt.
