Earline Robb Bayliss, 86, of Henrico, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on July 7, 2025. Her son, Earl Robb Jr., and nephew, Paul Penn, were at her bedside when she passed. Born on April 20, 1939, in Richmond, Virginia, Earline was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas Butler and Earline (Mills) Butler.
Earline grew up in Richmond and graduated from Hermitage High School. She later earned an Associate Degree in Business Education from Richmond Polytechnic Institute. As one of eleven children in a large
and loving family, she learned resilience and strength at a young age, cherishing fond memories of her time with Clyde and Doris Robinson.
Earline dedicated herself to her family and was married to Earl Robb Sr. She later found enduring happiness with Holmes Bayliss, whom she married in 1983 at Brookland United Methodist Church where she was the Director of Preschool Child Care. Their marriage was celebrated with the children from the daycare center in attendance. They had a wonderfully happy marriage until Holmes' passing in 1994.
In her later years, Earline continued to fill her life with joy and connection. She loved to bake, and her specialty was gingerbread men. She created a beloved ladies' tea group that still meets regularly, featuring special speakers and events. A true chocolate connoisseur, she found delight in life's sweet moments. Earline greeted every day with a smile as quick as it was genuine, and eyes that truly shone like stars, radiating warmth to all who knew her. She deeply cherished her friendships, and the family is especially grateful for the devoted care and companionship of her best friend, Honeybear (Mary Strickland), who visited her multiple times a week in her final months.
Earline is survived by her loving son Earl Robb Jr, and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM, in Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, VA 23238. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
