Gregory Barrett Stolcis

STOLCIS, Gregory Barrett, 57 of Richmond, passed on peacefully in his sleep, at home with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue and Louis Stolcis. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Valerie H. Stolcis; his son, Kyle E. Stolcis; and his sister, Jeanne Stolcis.

Greg received his graduate degree in Social Work and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University. He worked as an Administrator for the Commonwealth of Virginia for most of his career, and was also an Adjunct Faculty Member at VCU, teaching graduate classes in Public Policy. He was a loving husband, father and brother and was a loyal friend to many. He enjoyed reading, sports, listening to music, playing the piano and traveling. The legacy that he leaves behind is one of kindness, compassion, and good humor, and he will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sun, Feb. 23rd, 2-4 PM, at the Parham Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A memorial service will be held on Wed, Feb. 26th at 4 PM at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 1101 Forest Ave, with a reception to follow at the church.
