

SCHOLTE, Paul (Henry Paul IV), beloved father and grandfather, loved and adored by many family and friends, left us to be in Heaven on August 11, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Robert P. Scholte; beloved Aunt Vee Lohman; and son Robert. He is survived by his children, H. Paul V (Amanda); Suzanne (Chadwick) Gore of Falls Church, Va.; daughter-in law, Ann E. Terrill Scholte; Edward (Maria); and Cassandra (Nathan) Jensen of Austin, Texas; and grandchildren, Chester, Christian and James Gore, Mason and Tristan Jensen, and Alyssa and Henry Paul Scholte VI.
He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1928. After graduating from Grinnell College, he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served during the Korean War. Paul was a Freemason and a member of the Scottish Rite, the Royal Arch and the Shrine, where he was a past officer of the ACCA Temple Bagpipe band. He was retired president of the family business, Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Company. Paul was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Goochland. He was a fixture at Westwood Racquet Club, where he swam, worked out, played tennis and racquetball. He was an avid sailor, skier and Scotch collector. Paul was a past officer of the Rose Clan Society of North America. He was a generous patron of the arts and numerous organizations.
Services will be held at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 12291 River Road on Sunday, August 14, at 3 p.m. The family will receive visitors in the New Parish Hall from 2 until 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the USO in support of our troops, or the Deltaville Maritime Museum, P.O.
