
LIGON, Jeffrey Leonard, 27, of Richmond, Va., died October 8, 2016. Born March 20, 1989 in Richmond, he was the son of Jeffrey Lynn Ligon and Martha Stuart Keedwell Ligon of Richmond. He was the grandson of the late Marvin Leonard and Virginia Vincent Ligon and the late Stuart Grant and Lucille Harrell Keedwell, all of Emporia. He is survived by his parents and a sister, Catherine Benton Ligon. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by five aunts and uncles: Shirley Virginia Keedwell Smith and her husband, Thomas Eugene Smith of Spartanburg, S.C., Elizabeth Grant Keedwell Thrower and her husband, Ronnie Wilson Thrower, of Emporia; Lucille Land Keedwell and her husband, Michael Lloyd Allen, of Richmond; Mary Katherine Keedwell Small and her husband, James Edward Small, of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and Nancy Harrell Keedwell Ferguson and her husband, William Eugene Ferguson, of Emporia. He is also survived by eight first cousins: Elizabeth Anne Smith of New Bern, N.C.; Christopher Thomas Smith of Columbia, S.C.; Brian Stuart Thrower of Emporia; Grant Wilson Thrower of Alexandria; Anne Randolph McCurry of Charlotte, N.C.; Michael Stuart Allen of Richmond; Jonathan Edward Small of Palmyra, Pa.; Matthew Scott Small of Ashburn; and their families. Jeff attended Douglas Freeman High School and J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College. He enjoyed all sports and especially loved playing football and lacrosse. He was a passionate supporter of Virginia Tech. He loved his dogs, Rosie and Buddy. He treasured his close circle of friends and especially loved his best friend, Grace and his Goddaughter, Caroline. More than anything, Jeff loved his parents who were always by his side. He was a communicant of All Saints Episcopal Church, Richmond. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, at All Saints Episcopal Church, 8787 River Road, Richmond, Va. 23229. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23238.
