John Emmett Hart

HART, John Emmett, 62, of Richmond, passed away December 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joanne S. Buck and Emmett R. Hart; and his brother, Kirk S. Hart. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Letitia (Tish) E. Hart, son Daniel Emmett Hart of Richmond, daughter Alyssa Marie McNair (Kevin) of Chesterfield, grandson Wyatt A. McNair, sisters Jane Hart of Berryville, Carol White (Rick) of Vermilion, OH and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Chattanooga, TN, John grew up in Dayton, OH, and attended the Mgmt. Dev. Inst. of Northwestern Univ., Evanston, IL, graduated from Sinclair Comm. College, Dayton, Wright State Univ., Dayton, and was a CHR graduate. John was a Furniture Manufacturers’ Representative, Owner of Hart Properties, LLC, real estate investor and entrepreneur. He was an active member and Past Pres. of Richmond Furniture Club, member and Past Pres. of VCHFRA, Richmond Chapter, long-time member of Int’l Home Furn. Repres. Assoc., member of Richmond Apt. Owners Assoc., member/Elder of River Road Presbyterian Church, Richmond, and former member of The Gentry, Richmond. John was an avid traveler and writer and enjoyed reading but his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond. A memorial service will be held Sat. at 10 a.m. at River Road Presby.
