Rogers, Lewis T., 86, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise P. Rogers, and survived by his three children, Michael Rogers and Pamela Mulcahy of Richmond, and Alice R. Yoder of Charlotte NC and by five grandchildren, Karl and Bethany Mulcahy of Richmond, Christopher and David Yoder, Lauren Y. Sawyers and one great grandson, Luke Sawyers, all of Charlotte, NC. Dr. Rogers graduated from Davidson College in 1947; his studies were interrupted by WWII when Lewis enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Lewis graduated from The Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1941 and went on to practice general dentistry in the Richmond area. Dr. Rogers also remained on staff at M.C.V. as a part time faculty member for over 40 years. He and his wife were founding members of Tuckahoe Presbyterian Church. An avid cyclist, he was honored with a lifetime membership by the Richmond Area Bicycling Association (RABA). A private memorial service will be held later this week. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
