

Ashworth, Lillian Thomas, 101, of Henrico, passed away peacefully June 30, 2016. Retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield, she loved her family, Bridge, Bingo, hospital volunteering, socializing and most lovingly, her church, Pine Street Baptist, where she was the longest and oldest active member. Born in Richmond, VA, February 27, 1915, she was predeceased in death by her husband, Durwood Ormond Ashworth; her parents, Joseph Nelson and Edna Lee Shepherdson Thomas, and stepmother, Florence Funai Trent Thomas; brothers, Raymond, George and Joseph Thomas, and Willie Trent; sisters, Dorothy Lee (Patterson) and Doris Trent (Rosemond). She is survived by her children, Lawrence (Sandra) and Neil (Marlene); grandchildren, Christopher (Inger), of Copenhagen, Denmark, Todd (Jamie), of Charlotte, NC, Jared and Jessie of Henrico, VA; great grandchildren, Andrea, Thomas, and Martin, of Copenhagen, and Ethan, Connor and Cooper of Charlotte; great niece and nephew, Donna (McDonald) of Florida and Michael Patterson of Richmond; and many other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 11, from 6 to 8 PM at Woody Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. where service will take place on Tuesday, July 12, at 1:00 P.M., with interment to follow in Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Street Baptist Church, 400 S. Pine St., Richmond, VA.
