

Lillian Mae Murphy Boykin, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born on October 31, 1928 in Norfolk, Va. and died on November 1, 2014 in Henrico, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Silas and Lillian Gilbert Murphy; and her husband, James Luby Boykin. She is survived by her brother, Stanley Gilbert Murphy of Fishersville, Va.; her four children, Marsha Mayo (Russ) of Allentown, Pa., James Thomas Boykin (Myra) of Pensacola, Fla., Pamela Roberts (Rick) of Chesapeake, Va., David Boykin (Ron) of Henrico, Va.; her grandchildren, Tanya Vann, JuliAnn Boykin, Travis Boykin, Brandon Bisner (Brianne), Bryce Bisner, Alana Boykin-Carter, Brynna Boykin-Carter; and her great-grandchildren, Grace Vann, Thomas Vann, Grace Bisner, Jacob Bisner and Ian Bisner. Lillian was a longtime resident of Chesapeake, until seven years ago, when she came to live with her son, David. She retired from Sheller Globe after 20 plus years of service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd. A funeral service with a luncheon to follow will be held Wednesday, November 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 4200 Dover Rd., Richmond, Va. 23221. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, Va.
