June 27, 1928 – September 24, 2025
Lois Louise (Gould) Poe, 97, passed away peacefully in Richmond, VA, on September 24, 2025.
Lois was born on June 27, 1928, in Worcester, MA. She moved to Miami, Oklahoma in 1962, moved to Northport, AL (2013-2018), and then to Richmond, VA (2018-2025). Miami, however, was the place she called her true home.
Lois was an extremely loving and devoted mother to her 10 children. She was also a very accomplished woman. She was employed by Miami Baptist Hospital (now Integris Health Miami Hospital) for the majority of her career where she was Assistant Purchasing Director at her retirement in 1991. After her retirement, she worked for the Red Cross and her beloved United Methodist Church where she also taught a Sunday school class of her peer group for many years. She was also a volunteer at Integris Hospital.
Lois was a vivacious reader and published author, and her love of words and music was awe-inspiring. She played 7 different instruments, wrote music lyrics, and had a true affinity for nature. She marveled at the changing beauty of each season, especially her favorite season, fall. She was an avid fan of OU football and of the Boston Red Sox.
Lois was a devoted woman of God in her every word and deed, evidenced in her relationship with family, friends and acquaintances.
