Lorraine E Joseph

JOSEPH, Lorraine Elizabeth Graf, of Richmond, Va., left this side of heaven to be with her Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2017. She was surrounded by her family throughout her struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was predeceased by her parents, Nicholas and Johanne Graf; her husband, Charles Joseph; and her sweet daughter, Nancy Hopke. Lorraine was born in Philadelphia, Pa. on April 19, 1929 and was an identical twin to her sister and best friend, Lillian Walge (Sia). She married Charles Joseph in 1949 and his business ventures moved them to Richmond, where they lived for almost 60 years. Lorraine’s passion was sharing her faith. She was president and a speaker for The Christian Women’s Club (Connection) and continued to share her faith with those around her even at Our Lady of Hope, where she resided until her passing. She was also an elder and active member of Third Church, an avid golfer and had a wonderful sense of humor that will keep her family sharing “Momoo” stories at future family gatherings. A loving wife and mother, Lorraine saw joy in all circumstances, especially through her children, Linda Stone, Kathy White (Randall), Nancy Hopke and Chip Joseph (Karen); her 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Hampton, Kevin Newton, Angela Blue, Chad White, Chris White, Cary Joseph, Jake Joseph and Sadie Joseph; and her six great-grandchildren, Kayla, Jacob, Madison, McKenna, Maise and Allyson. She lived out her life verse, Roman’s 8:28 that says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” There will be a visitation on Friday, June 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parham Chapel, Woody Funeral Home, 1771 N. Parham Rd., Richmond, Va., a private family interment on Saturday, June 10, at 3 p.m., Greenwood Cemetery, and a memorial service and Celebration of Life on Friday, June 16, at 1 p.m. at Third Church, 600 Forest Avenue, Henrico, Va.
